Fees in Karaganda

Girls under 4 years of age $7890.00
Boys under 4 years of age $6890.00
Children older than 4 years $6400.00

These fees include the new court fees of $1200.00 to insure that the court date is set within one week after bonding period ends. If the parents want to wait 45 days for the court date than you can deduct the $1200.00 in court fees.

These fees pay for the following:

1. Letter of invitation to obtain Kazakh visa
2. Attorney fees
3. Transportation fees related to adoption
4. Trips to Astana: secure “permission to adopt”, deliver dossier to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bring dossier back to Karaganda, bring application for child’s passport (Four trips to Astana)
5. Abandonment documentation
6. Court costs
7. Document fees/notarization fees
8. Local visa for parents
9. Exit visa for child
10. Donation to orphanage
11. Child’s new passport
12. Farewell party cake etc. for children
13. Post- Placement translations
14. Interpreter for court/lawyer/official meetings
15. One pick-up/drop-off at airport

As the Canadian dollar has risen against the U.S. dollar so has the Tenge( Kazakh currency). Current exchange rate is 135 T. to US. $1.00.

Family Pays For:

1. Travel
  To/from Kazakhstan
Airfare/visas
VIP service at Almaty Airport ($75.00/adult $25.00 for child)
2. Hosting:
Option 1 Host home expenses - 6400 T. ($47.00) per day per couple includes hosting, all meals and computer and 8600 T. per day once adoptive child joins you. Additional biological child you bring with you 2200 T. ($16.00) per day.
Option 2 Downtown Apartment - 6,700 T. per day for downtown apartment- no computer, no meals.
Option 3 Downtown Apartment including all meals and computer - 10,400 T. per day
Option 4 Hotel - decent hotels start at $75.00 per night, breakfast included in Karaganda and $90.00 per night in Almaty
3. Child’s English Lessons if you request - $30.00 per month
4. Child’s Registration - 5300 T. plus $100.00 travel expense
5. This registration used to be completed at the Kazakh Connulate in Torontobut now must be completed before you leave Kazakhstan
6. Child’s Airfare
7. Photos of the child for passport
8. Interpreter in Karaganda for personal use 272 T. per hour
9. Immigration medical required for Canadian clearance
10. Any additional airport pickup/drop-off(s) needed. This generally happens when parents travel separately - 1600 T. Karaganda (one trip) - 8,000 T. Almaty (roundtrip)
